Dying Workshop with Locally Grown Indigo

This is Vibrant Valley Farm’s fourth year growing indigo on Sauvie Island and we want to share how incredible this plant is and how we obtain the color blue.

Participants will dive deep with us as we take them on a journey to explore indigo, including:
• The process of growing and caring for this plant
• The elements of cultivating this plant in this area of the world
• A tutorial on how we extract pigment from indigo leaves
• How to make a dye vat using our local pigment for hands-on dye practice
We want to share our story of how and why we work with indigo and our goals for future textile projects and collaborations.
