“Future Cosmos Flow” Costume and Film Exhibition
October 25-October 27
An exhibition and talk on the elaborate and sustainable costumes from Fuchsia Lin’s Future Cosmos Flow dance film.

Fuchsia Lin will be presenting a selection of the elaborate costumes that she designed and created for her new dance film Future Cosmos Flow, which she also directed and produced. Fuchsia will be giving a talk on the making of the costumes as well as presenting textiles in film. There will also be excerpts from the film, as well as time for Q&A.
About the Film:
Future Cosmos Flow is a film about the power of water to transform our lives. It’s a sci-fi fairytale about twin heroes who set out on a quest to restore harmony to their planet after it’s been nearly destroyed by their unscrupulous uncle.
This film features Fuchsia’s sculptural costumes inspired by water in its solid, liquid, and gas states, and are built utilizing sustainable materials and techniques.
Mock-ups of the costumes were engineered first and then worn during rehearsals where dancers’ improvisations helped shape the choreography. Fuchsia will be sharing these mock-ups during the Saturday talk.

On Sunday, the hours are 12:00 PM – 5:00PM
