An art opening and roundtable discussion on the context of materials beyond craft and the role of textiles in contemporary art.
Nan Curtis and Jessie Spiess-Werner sit down with fellow artists Alexis Day, Lauren Prado, and Brittany Vega at ADX Studios to chat about their use of textiles and varying techniques in their work. The group seeks to engage the public in a conversation about the role of textiles in contemporary art as a material that can convey meaning and with consideration of its historical and contemporary contexts. "Gathered" will continue with the opening following the discussion and in conjunction with ADX Open Studios.
