Stockpiler Presents In-Situ: Site-Specific Textile Installations at The Hoxton

• HYUN JUNG JUNG and DASOL KIM’S collaboration “Presence: In Sync:” is a visual translation of the relationship between individuals’ physical world and digital world, using the computer and knit patterns as media. They will present a multifaceted body of work, including a “slouch chair,” made and upholstered by Revive Design, and covered in HYUN JUNG’S machine knit textile, the pattern of which will be determined by the responses generated by the website designed by DASOL.
• STEPHANIE BRACHMANN’S handmade sculptures, home decor products, and drawings evoke laughter, hugs, and thoughts about body weirdness and the human relationship with other life on Earth. STEPHANIE will present a series of large-scale soft sculptures made from reclaimed fabric and filling.
• ELI WEST’S installation will include multiple felted vessels from 6 inches to 4 feet with floral arrangements by local flower farm InClay Co. ELI’S practice embraces the playful, beautifully tactile, and slightly disturbed aspects of his own experience.
• HOLLY MUELLER’S tall, sinuous, free-standing macrame sculptures are inspired by the undulating, ombre-esque formations seen in her recent explorations of rock formations of the Pacific Northwest. For this project, HOLLY has collaborated with LR Design Co. to create three amorphic steel stands for her work.
• ANNABELLE McCALL values labor, especially that which is historically coded as feminine. They work in collaboration with materials, often choosing organic matter like silk and cochineal dye for their bodily associations. ANNABELLE will be showcasing a new body of work involving hand-dyed silk batik, which has been augmented with a laser cutter, bridging ancient techniques and new technology.
